Well its been a rollercoaster of a season for the Stags in the Queenstown Beer League winter season for 2023. 22 weeks of hockey, many late nights and many a beverage and pizza from the amazing Queenstown Ice Arena.
The results of the season certainly do not reflect how hard and how well everyone has done. The challenge of a long string of losses on the trot never dampened the spirits of the team with everyone giving it their all each week.
Everyone across the board levelled up and as the season got into its final weeks, strategies and flow started to click and the team managed to find a groove that they have all known is there, but taken a wee while to lock in.

They have had my back and I appreciate their input and dedication over the season, despite the results, which don't matter anyway. We were truly a team at the end of the day and thats the winner for me." - Rob Crawford #32, Captain
The Stags would like to congratulate the Otautahi Reapers on winning the QBL Trophy for Winter 2023 and look forward to playing against them again over summer!
